Certain things we are not to comprehend on this side of heaven, and that’s ok.

This morning I used a new bible my wife had bought which had been sitting on the shelf for some time. I was sure I had turned to Psalm 36. Slowly reading through the next two chapters thinking how I do not remember these verses being in Psalms.
“Behold, God is mighty, and does not despise any; he is mighty in strength of understanding. He does not keep the wicked alive, but gives the afflicted their right.” ~ Job 36:5-6
By chapter 38, I was wondering how could I have missed Psalms recounting Job’s story.
“Where were you when I laid the foundation of the earth? Tell me, if you have understanding. Who determined its measurements — surely you know! Or who stretched the line upon it?” ~ Job 38:4-5
As I was crying through the pages, it hit me that somehow I am in Job, where God is talking to me through His Word.
“Have the gates of death been revealed to you, or have you seen the gates of deep darkness? Have you comprehended the expanse of the earth? Declare, if you know all this.? ~ Job38:17-18
As if God is affirming what Pastor Dave has said on Friday, certain things we are not to comprehend on this side of heaven, and that’s ok. The good news is we have a loving God who understands us. He is patient with us even in our griefing.
“Love is patient and kind; love does not envy or boast; it is not arrogant or rude. It does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful; it does not rejoice at wrongdoing; Burt rejoices with the truth. Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things endures all things. Love never ends,…” ~ 1 Corinthians 13:4-8
If it is not because God sent Jesus to die on the cross, I may not be able to believe His love for me/us.
But He did….
